Faced with increasingly stringent regulations, the energy sector is undergoing radical change. This transformation opens up new prospects for significantly improving the energy efficiency of our buildings and infrastructures.
The September 2024 Energy Information Note, produced by our expert partner Steeve Benisty, provides an update on the latest developments concerning Energy Savings Certificates (CEE) and the new requirements to be met.
Discover the 5 key ideas in this note for optimizing the energy performance of your facilities.
1. Energy Savings Certificates (CEE): new opportunities not to be missed
The Energy Savings Certificates (CEE) scheme has made a major contribution to the energy transition since its launch. In 2024, CEE remains an essential lever for financing your energy renovation projects.
Thanks to the extension of certain aids, such as Building Management Systems (BMS) until 2030, you have unique opportunities to reduce your energy consumption and cut your bills.
Take advantage of this opportunity to take stock of your needs and find out how EWC can help you.
2. The BACS decree: an obligation, but also an opportunity
On average, companies that have implemented a BMS have achieved energy savings of 25% in one year.
The BACS decree requires the installation of building management systems (BMS) by 2025. More than a regulatory obligation, BACS is a unique opportunity to modernize your infrastructures. BMS systems make it possible to monitor, control and optimize energy consumption in real time, which can lead to a reduction in energy costs of up to 30 %.
3. MaPrimeRénov' simplified: a helping hand for your renovation projects
Good news for homeowners! Since May 2024, MaPrimeRénov' has been simplified to make the process more accessible. Insulation work can now benefit from the bonus without requiring an energy performance diagnosis (DPE) until the end of 2024.
It's the ideal time to undertake simple, effective renovation work, while benefiting from a financial boost.
4. Managing waste heat: turning loss into profit
One of the note's strengths lies in its focus on the management of waste heat, an often neglected source of energy. The new CEE sheets open the way to innovative solutions for recovering this waste heat. By converting it into electricity or compressed air, it is possible to significantly reduce energy costs and make an active contribution to the energy transition. These systems not only improve the profitability of companies, but also reduce their environmental impact.
5. Penalties for non-compliance: a risk to be anticipated
Finally, the note warns against the risks of penalties for non-compliance current regulations, such as the tertiary sector decree and the BACS decree. These regulations impose clear targets for reducing energy consumption. Failure to meet these obligations could result in financial penalties. But the good news is that, with available grants and schemes such as CEE, there are many ways to comply while reducing costs.
