How is an accident at work defined?

The Social Security Code defines an accident at work as an accident, regardless of its cause, "occurring as a result of or in the course of work to any person employed or working, in any capacity or in any place whatsoever, for one or more employers or company managers" (article L.411-1 of the Social Security Code)
